PETITION: NOT ANOTHER BUS - Support Modern Transit in Scarborough!
Provincial and Federal Funding Commitment for Eglinton East Light Rail Transit (EELRT)

Dear Neighbours,

As your City Councillor and elected representative for Ward 24 Scarborough-Guildwood, I have been focused on making Scarborough a transit priority and improving the transit options for you.  I have reached out to my colleagues and elected representatives at all levels of government to push for funding for the Eglinton East Light Rail Transit (EELRT).  Scarborough needs a modern, rapid transit option to connect our community to the TTC network with more than just buses.

In February 2020, Toronto City Council unanimously supported a $1.238 Billion funding commitment to the EELRT.  However, the City of Toronto cannot fund this alone.  The Provincial and Federal governments need to make a financial commitment as well. The budget for the project currently stands at $4.2 Billion. With the support of the Provincial and Federal governments, construction could begin as early as 2024 and be completed in 4-6 years.

SUPPORT BETTER TRANSIT IN SCARBOROUGH. SIGN THE PETITION ASKING THE FEDERAL AND PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENTS TO MATCH THE CITY OF TORONTO’S COMMITTED FUNDING TO BUILD THE EGLINTON EAST LRT (EELRT).

Support for Daisy Mart Convenience Store and Tuxedo Drug Mart

Dear Tuxedo Court Community,

A recent redevelopment application was filed with the City by a private developer which includes the demolition of 42 Tuxedo court, home to both Daisy Mart Convenience Store and Tuxedo Drug Mart.  A community meeting for this application will be taking place virtually on November 29, 2021. I would urge you to attend.

I am concerned with the potential loss of these two essential amenities that serve you and your Neighbours and have raised them with City of Toronto Planning, asking that the redevelopment include retail space on the ground floor.

I also wrote to Toronto Community Housing (TCHC) to explore the possible relocation of the two amenities to 50 Tuxedo Court, however TCHC has responded that this relocation is not possible due to zoning limitations and the lack of space in their building.

I believe the possible loss of these two accessible amenities will have a negative impact on the Tuxedo Court Community.  Your support in signing the following petition to ensure that retail space is added to the new redevelopment application is instrumental
