Progress Avenue Bridge Closure and Demolition Works
The Progress Avenue bridge over McCowan Road and adjoining infrastructure will be demolished ahead of the future construction of the Scarborough Centre Subway Station. This work will occur in four key stages as follows:
Stage 1: July 12 - August 16, 2024
Permanent ramp closure - Progress Avenue ramp and Bushby Drive ramp
Progress Avenue ramp and pedestrian underpass demolition.
Stage 2: August 16, 2024
Permanent closure of Progress Avenue bridge.
Stage 3: August 30 - September 3, 2024 (24-hour work)
Progress Avenue Bridge demolition and McCowan Road closure.
Stage 4: August 26 - September 18, 2024
Bushby Drive ramp and Scarborough Rapid Transit (SRT) pedestrian bridge demolition.
Weekdays from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. - August 30 - September 3, 2024: 24-hour work
