Ballet brought to Mornelle Court Children
Toronto City Hall - Children in the Mornelle Court community (Morningside Rd & Ellesmere Roads) have been chosen to participate in a very special program. Created in partnership with the National Ballet School of Canada and the Boys' and Girls' Club of East Scarborough, they will receive an opportunity to be introduced to the art of dance.
Searching for communities to inspire young children the National Ballet School of Canada was introduced to the Mornelle community by the East Scarborough Boys & Girls Club.
Classes began in February 2010. "This is such a fantastic opportunity for our community" stated Councillor Paul Ainslie "We could not have asked for a better fit to have the National Ballet School of Canada, a world renowned dance institution, here to inspire our children."
"This is a life experience which our children will carry with them into their adulthood" added Councillor Paul Ainslie. The program is running at 90 Mornelle Court in their community room which the residents are very happy to see being used. The program is scheduled to run until May 1, 2010.
Councillor Ainslie has been working with the Mornelle Community Coalition since it's inspection to bring programs and ensure the residents make their voices heard to strengthen the community. This is another example of this relationship flourishing for the betterment of the community.
